A Commuter Town With Younger Gardens

Ellon's grown substantially as a commuter base for Aberdeen over the last couple of decades, and it shows in the housing — newer estates with smaller, younger gardens make up a good share of the town, alongside the older centre around the Auld Brig and the River Ythan. Smaller plots mean the work here skews toward hedge trimming, garden fencing and grass cutting more than the large-scale felling we see on bigger, older properties elsewhere, though the established trees along the river and around the older part of town still need proper crown work from time to time.

The Ythan estuary and the Sands of Forvie nature reserve are close by, and anywhere near there we're especially careful about the nesting bird season between March and August — it's good practice everywhere we work, but it's worth flagging specifically for gardens backing onto that stretch.
